In 1997, it launched a chain of retail stores, initially called Olympic Stores but renamed B-Tech in 2003 as a name more in line with its activities (consumers associated the name “Olympic” with sports more than appliances). By 2010, it had grown to become a major retailing presence in the Egyptian household appliance market, with 57 stores in 21 governorates.   B-Tech has two main areas of operation. First, it operates retail services through its stores, selling many different brands.
