In the Biblical Guide to Alternative Medicine use Appendix B- Scientific Research Results to find information about the CAT you are investigating.  3. Also, locate and read about the CAT of the practitioner to be interviewed in both textbooks before the interview. Use the table of contents and the index to locate the appropriate chapter.  4. Locate and read at least two research studies from the nursing databases available through OCLS.  5. Choose one of the therapies below that is of interest to you, but one that you have not investigated before.  a. Acupuncture  b. Animal Assisted Therapy.  c. Applied Kinesiology. d. Aromatherapy.  e. Gather the following information:  a. General description that describes what he or she does, his/her understanding of the treatment, and the benefits for the client and general efficacy. b. Any potential adverse reactions and how they are addressed.  c. Educational training, license or credentials required to perform the therapy.  d. The worldview of the therapy. Ask the therapist to explain how the CAT works.  e. Scientific evidence can they point to that explains how it works?  10. In your report, clearly state your analysis, conclusions, and evaluation related to the CAT:  a. Based on your search of scholarly research studies from the OCLS, evaluate the effectiveness of the CAT with consideration of the quality of the studies (are they double-blind, randomized clinical trials with two groups?)  b. Address all of the parts of the Five Part Grid from the Biblical Guide to Alternative Therapy text to evaluate the CAT. Then identify which part of the five part grid is best to evaluate this particular therapy. ( Five parts grid include: History, Faith, Holism, Science, Spiritual Discernment) c. Is the CAT compatible with a biblical worldview?  d. Would you recommend this therapy to a client? Would you use it yourself? Why or why not?  11. In the opening line of your paper, describe where the interview took place, the date, and include this statement as the introduction of your report. “The following paragraphs will summarize the information gleaned from the interview visit.”  Please note: If this information and statement are not included, every sentence the interviewee provides will need to be cited with personal communication citations.  12. Follow the assessment criteria to address how your interview findings compare with what your readings revealed about the therapy.  a. In addition to the course textbooks, utilize a minimum of two other scholarly sources from the OCLS library databases. Be sure to check the Cochrane Database for systematic reviews and meta-analysis reports.  b. Common Internet resources such as Wikipedia, WebMD, and MayoClinic.com are not recognized as scholarly resources for coursework.  13. You may write your three to five-page paper in the first person, however, maintain professional-level writing, without contractions, free of spelling and grammar errors.   14. Proofread your paper for grammar, spelling, and APA errors. Use the Grammarly tool to check a plagiarism report as well as punctuation and grammar.
