My essay cannot exceed 350 words. Could you check my grammar and make my sentences flow better? Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement? 5. When I was fifteen years old, I was in a relationship with someone who told me I was born to be a “baby-making machine.” A billion thoughts raced through my brain as I processed his words. It felt as if someone had dunked me in a tub of ice-cold water. While in theory, I thought it would be easy to handle all of his outrageous opinions, it turned out to be emotionally exhausting. It was draining because his abrasive remarked into my pre-existing doubts about myself and my decision to go after what I wanted. I got reminded every second I was with him that I was not worthy enough, simply because I was born with two X chromosomes. A part of me was essentially convinced that he was right; convinced that while in school and after I graduated, my husband would not love me if I was not home to make dinner every night; convinced that my kids would hate me for hiring a nanny to take care of them and not making them snacks when they came back from school. I allowed his words to chew on my heart and eventually, my performance in school deteriorated. Instead of letting myself recall the steps to preparing a buffer solution of aspecific pH in Chemistry, I sat there replaying his remarks repeatedly in my head. What was the point of doing well in school if I was meant to be a housewife? My personality also took a turn for the worst. I became more reserved and slowly detached myself from friends and family. This behavior persisted until my mother caught on and asked if I wanted to open up to her, and so began the process of healing. Throughout my experience, I have learned to communicate my feelings and to stop letting people tell me how I should live my life. I have also realized that just because society has made it such that when women go after what they want, it is considered selfish and harmful for the family, it does not mean that it is true.
